#StrangerThings

If you haven't seen the new Netflix Original series, Stranger Things, then you really need to get out more. Stranger Things is a supernatural mystery show set in the 1980's about a young boy's disappearance and a telekinetic girl who helps with the search. I know it sounds weird, but it's easily one of the best shows I've seen. Not only is the storyline fantastic, but the acting, cinematography and music is top notch.

I watched Stranger Things right when it came out on Netflix, but if you're just now jumping on the bandwagon, then you've seen the hype all over the internet. The only time I have ever seen this much talk about a TV show on social media was when JoJo was on the Bachelorette. Everyday I see people posting about Stranger Things on Facebook or Twitter using #StrangerThings. This fanbase has turned to the internet into a community for those obsessing about the show. This community is sharing their favorite moments, favorite characters, favorite episodes, theories, memes, and most importantly concerns about Barb.

I am obviously part of this community myself and enjoy getting deep into Twitter to see what people are doing. One of my favorite tweets is about a missing person flyer posted up on a telephone pole for Barb in San Francisco. Another great one is creating gifs about the telekinetic character, Eleven, stealing Eggo waffles for National Waffle Day. Now even though this is just a fictional TV show, fans are getting so wrapped up and making it a part of their lives.

I've already converted 3 of my friends into huge fans of the show just by the amount of content I tweet or repost. I love being able to express my love for the show while also encouraging others to check it out for themselves. Social media has dramatically impacted the widespread success of the show.

If you're a Stranger Things fan, I have some great news. The Duffer Brothers have officially announced a season two of Stranger Things that will be released in 2017. That's right, A SEASON TWO. Get ready to be glued to your couch for about 9 hours and revisit the Upside Down.

P.S. Shoutout to my twin Nancy for killing it out there

#BePopCultured

What news source do you turn to when you want to hear the latest celebrity gossip, drama or scandal? E! News of course. Whether you're watching TV or catching up on your favorite social media, E! News is always delivering the gossip you want to hear.

This month, E! News broke out the hashtag "#BePopCultured" to deliver news in humorous way. I was unaware of this until last week when a Kimoji #BePopCultured commercial aired, which is hilarious for those of you who haven't seen it. Hashtags are being used by tons of companies to target new customers, get noticed, start conversations and promote their business and/or product. Now I'm not saying that E! News is struggling, in fact they have 10.2M Twitter followers alone, but it doesn't hurt to deliver their messages in a new way.

If you haven't seen this new hashtag in action, you can follow E! News on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or simply watch their TV network because they upload a new use of the hashtag everyday. Now that I've seen one post, I can't stop looking for more.

E! News has received a lot of positive feedback from their fanbase through likes, shares and even posts with their own use of the hashtag, so clearly they've done something right. A lot of companies attempt to use hashtags to try something new and appeal to a new audience, but I think E! News did it best. The fanbase loves being able to search the hashtag for all of the #BePopCultured posts and contribute to the conversation. What's the best part about it? They aren't being forced to use the hashtag! Nine times out of ten I refuse to Tweet or Instagram a company's hashtag when they ask me to, but with the simplistic and clever use of #BePopCultured, I can't help but want to use it myself!

Keeping Up With Kylie

Move over Kim, Kylie is the new family favorite.

Whether you appreciate them or not, everyone knows the Kardashian/Jenner clan is an icon for fashion, makeup, extravagant lifestyles, and, of course, drama. You can probably catch all of that and more within the first 5 minutes of their hit reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians. While Kim typically gets all of the public's attention, Kylie Jenner is now taking over the social media spotlight.

Earlier this year Kylie launched her own company, Kylie Cosmetics, that is blowing up the cosmetic industry. Kylie can always be seen wearing bold lipstick on her voluptuous lips, so why not make a business out what she does best? The buzz about Kylie's launch is all over Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TV and has yet to calm down. Kylie offers a variety of products including Metals, Glosses, Matte singles, and Matte lip kits with colors ranging from black, nude, to even a sky blue. Perfect for everyone, right?

Her unbelievable success was not just luck or a coincidence. Yes Kylie is undoubtably famous, but she used her major Instagram presence, with over 71 million followers by the way, to show off the cosmetics to her fanbase. With daily pictures and snaps, Kylie gives her fans a preview of new shades, products, and even her infamous lips that her followers are going crazy for.

Don't think Kylie is successful? Simply read the comments under her Instagram cosmetic pictures, look through her site to see how many products are sold out, or try to purchase lipstick on a new release day because, let me tell ya, the site will crash. Despite what your opinion is on Kylie, the Kardashians, or the product itself, Kylie has dominated social media marketing. Kylie knew her audience, knew how to reach her audience, and most importantly, knew what her audience wanted to buy. Kudos to you Kylie.
